That's great, I was thinking Autocode had stopped making them. I've had them fitted to the tdv8 for nearly a year. Very happy. I'd be interested in the data too. ______________________________

yes I waited a long time for them to come back in stock, it was you that put me onto them in the first place @rar110

Think they have had a few problems and been very busy working on other versions plus think an office move or something cause some issues. Terrible communication from them, waited over 2 months due to courier problems but Mark was very helpful and we got there in the end.

So can't wait to get them fitted.

You had any problems at all? I know you mentioned an occasional idling hiccup?

I'll gather what I can and see if it shows anything useful... Thumbs Up Current Family:

It's a 5 min job to fit them. I haven't noticed the tachometer bounce lately. It's probably the MAFs needing a tidy up. ______________________________

All installed. Easy 10min job.

Started up no problems., no faults. Could swear the engine was idling was quieter... Question

Gathered bit of data. Will give them a good test over the coming week, see if any problems but so far so good.

They basically fool the ecu into thinking the EGR valves are working, whilst making them inoperative.

To fit the emulators you unplug the EGRs from the ECU while the engine is off and the EGRs are in the fully closed position. You then plug the emulators into the ECU and the EGRs remain unplugged and so closed. The emulators send signals to the ECU like the EGR would. The EGRs remain closed but the ECU is happily thinking they are opening and closing as normal.

The benefit is that no exhaust soot is feed into the intake manifold where it mixes with oil vapor from the crank case ventilation system, to cause the build up of sludge in the manifold. Another benefit is the motor idles and runs quieter, and there's less black smoke out the back on hard acceleration.

There are other debatable benefits. I say debatable as I'm not an engineer. It's possible that EGRs on the tdv8 get stuck in the open position from exhaust build up from short runs and idling around. A fault should show up. However if it doesn't exhaust then continuously cycles into the manifold and the motor compensates by dumping more fuel in leading to higher EGTs through the turbo for extended periods. If that's true the emulators stop that happening. The other possible benefit is that EGR bits come loose with age and fatigue with the open and closed movement. The bits then make their way into the motor causing a failure. ______________________________
