Have you tried with the flap below it raised? The one that covers the cubby hole in the boot floor. It can sometimes jam the side panel. John

Its kind of hinged at the bottom due to the way it fits - so you need to be pulling the top -

Thanks all. Once I saw the picture above I was more confident in my approach and viola. Panel removed with no breakages. Also needed to look at the fuse box in the front passenger side. And that’s not as straight forward either as the old l322.
