I tried to buy a RRS from Droitwich LR a few weeks back while the £3000 contribution was on.
I was happy to pay full retail, wanted to the smallest amount of finance to get the contribution.
Tuesday emailed them saying I want to buy it.
Wednesday they were dead interested.
Thursday kept going on about quotinbg me a trade in on the Discovery. I kept saying I had been offered a good price already, £22k, just want to buy your car.
Friday, asked if I wanted gap insurance or paint protection, said I don't want paint on a 3 year old car, and don't need gap as I was putting down £20000. I just want to buy your car.
Saturday they came back and said we can only go to £19k on your Discover. Huh? I said I had already sold it. And for £22k. I just want to buy your car.
Sunday. Can you pop in to see the car? No, it is an 8 hour round trip. I just want to buy your car.
Monday. Sales guy is off.
Tuesday. Speak to sales manager. He is really sorry I have been messed around. Do I want him to try and get a better figure for Disco? No. I just want to buy your car.
Wednesday. Calls me back. £3000 finance contribution ended yesterday I'm afraid.
Are you trying to wind me up? I have been trying to buy it for over a week.
Leave it with me, I will get you some extra discount and try and get the contribution put back in place to make things right.
Never heard back.
Car still for sale 2 weeks later.
I guess someone who doesn't want the extras is not the best customer, but surely you have to take that on the chin.
Buying a car is meant to be fun, I now dread it and sure many are the same. Porsche 911 (996)
2015 BMW 5 Series Touring
Not got a LR of any kind at the mo, and got itchy feet.
