Very occasional big puff of oil smoke on start up?

I wonder if anyone can help with this one please?

I've noticed this problem only three times in the last 12 months, once being yesterday - I started my engine and noticed a big puff of smoke coming from the exhaust at start up. I smelt the smoke which clearly had a strong smell of oil.

This occurred following a visit to a friends house, 500 yards before arrival half an hour earlier, I floored it going up a steep hill, in order to get past a learner driver (don't know if this was a factor?)

The car is used daily and started on average eight times per day, this never normally happens. The car was also MOT'd last Wednesday and passed it's emissions test with flying colours. This car never normally smells of anything other than clean petroleum fumes, never a hint of oil.

The car has a Full Main Dealer Service History. It has covered 82,000 miles and was last serviced 7k miles ago in May 2016.

The car is a FFRR L322 2007 4.4 V8 Petrol Engine.

Any advice that anyone can give would be much appreciated?

Many thanks

Thanks for posting this ohuntsman, but my 2007MY is actually one of the first Jaguar 4.4 petrol engines - I'm guessing the PCV is unique to the BMW engine?
