2017 Infotainment System Not Working

I have just purchased a 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography with 10,800 miles registered in Jan 2017 with latest infotainment system.

It has dropped the bluetooth phone connection (well the sound) a couple of times and goes "mute" on the media (radio and TV). Is this a known issue? Any cures or tips if I am doing something daft?

Yes, these are known issues. Report to the dealer for a software upgrade (which takes around 4 hours to upload!).

However, if yours has the rear seat entertainment system, then the software upgrade was not recommended by LR as of about 3 weeks ago:
