FBH diesel consumption and starting. Worried about nothing?

Hi all,
I've been using my FBH a couple of times a day, before work and before coming home. Presumably this can be hard on the battery but I do a 25 mile commute each way so hopefully it'll be getting enough charge.

I thought it was slower to catch when I started it tonight hence the question. Do you think this will be enough mileage to recharge the battery sufficiently?

Also, does anyone have any idea how much diesel the heater uses?

'08 3.6 TDB8 if it makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for any help Smile

The FBH does have a fail safe device fitted. I'm sure that if the battery has a low charge then the FBH will not fire up. Also if you have a low fuel level in the tank it will not fire up.
As for the consumption I'm not too sure, but hey to hell with the fuel, it's nice to hop into a nice warm cabin.
Although you are doing a 25 mile trip I'm guessing there still could be a drain on the battery, especially cold mornings with the heaters running & headlights. If your doing 25 miles on a free running motorway then i'm guessing it should boost the battery up, but maybe in stop and start traffic this may differ. Late 2004 FFRR Vogue 3.0 TD6 Tonga Green

The FBH uses .7 litre of fuel per hour on full power (i.e. When it is bringing the temperature)
And then it uses .34 litre of fuel per hour on part load (when it maintains the temperature)
They will not work if the battery voltage drops below 10.5 volts!

Generally if there is fuel, and power they work, and their mode of operation depends on a lot of factors. Such as outside temperature, coolant temperature, battery voltage, faults logged on the system eta 2006 RR sport HSE
