Rear Seat Entertainment - yep - out of date already - better off with a couple of iPads IMHO

Just for balance - some love the RSE though - tends to be those with very young kids - the advantage the system does have is that you can control it from the front. |

I was a real believer in the head restraint mounted rear seat entertainment. Unlike using an iPad, it’s always there, never had to be hidden away from thieves, integrated brilliantly into the car’s sound system, so even the driver could listen in and didn’t present the crash hazard of strapping a metal and rigid plastic support structure and a piece of glass in a child’s face impact area!

The one thing that I really dislike with the 10" RSE in the new L405, is that you cannot avvoid getting the DVD/CD player as part of this option. And who needs a CD/DVD player today? It would be better to have the upper glove box for something else!

I’m not a technological Luddite in particular but, seeing as you ask, I use DVD’s and even CD’s quite a bit, especially in the car; I wouldn’t want to spend this much on a car and not have the facility. |

I don't think the RSE is outdated. Just put a roku or similar device into the hdmi slot and you can stream anything to it. In my opinion hdmi is much more worthwhile than bluetooth. |

Or plug an Apple TV into the domestic plug socket and HDMI port and stream wirelessly. |

I suppose I can help a little in relation to the Hifi as I've had the signature in one AB I owned.. Truth is I was not overwhelmed by it TBH. That's not to say it's not a good sound system but the trouble is the standard is so good in comparison the only real difference I noticed is that I'd turn it up slightly louder on the standard system/. In the real world I'd never pay any significant premium for it. I expected it to be four thousand pounds better and to me it ws no where near to that.
