I have a cat p code for one of my cats and some lean faults I’m going for a smoke test to rule out wire leaks next week. If the fails to bear fruit and I need a cat I don’t fancy shelling out £900 for a genuine 4.2 one. Would something like this do the job? If so I’d probably do the pair https://www.tegiwaimports.com/magnaflow-59...gKM8vD_BwE Current stable:

I had a hunt for a cat for my S Class but was told by almost all breakers that they just send them for recycling, so even though you would probably pay more than a recycling place the breakers just send them off anyway - bonkers.... ______________________________

Yea I’m struggling a bit - can’t justify a new one as their other probably isn’t a million miles behind but can’t afford a pair so a used one for 20-30k would be great but no joy. Have thought of aftermarket but have genuine on one bank and not the other I can’t imagine is very good for the engine? Current stable:
