United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Still a good point Simon , just not so much an issue on the TDV8, which it will be if he’s looking at 2007 onwards.....as per post above.

Doesn’t seem unrealistic to me..... especially at that budget.....

Hi Dean,

I agree with mjd your budget is healthy for a TDV8.

If you haven't already you can flick through the for sale section here and find nice examples like:
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic44430.html
or
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic44084.html

ok these are over 100k but then again then are priced under/well under £10,000

Best advice is to trawl this forum to get familiar with typical gremlins (like turbos on 3.6's gearboxes on TD6's), you will pick up the common issues, things to watch for etc.

And sounds obvious but use the selling websites to do the leg work for you - play around with and set search parameters into Autotrader and the like and they will send you alerts. Try keeping your criteria range narrow and be patient.

In the end, you'll be able to swap to a photo of yourself hanging out the back of an FF and not an estate once you find The One.

Good luck! Cheers, Greg

It is lack of use that kills them not high mileage if you are using it daily it will be fine you may have a few niggles but once you get them sorted all should be good - I run a petrol on 150k and it was fault free for until earlier this year when my mileage fell off since then niggles with electrics mainly due to low voltage with the battery - just keep it maintained and you will be fine

Typically both of those have now sold.

I'm off to go and view this later, looks on the money and having spoken to the dealer it's his own car that he's been using for a while. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ad...romSA=true

Looks nice Dean. Check the L322 Buyers Guide in the wiki section. There's a lot in there and it's a lot to check on a first visit to see a car. Another area, regardless of engine and year are the rear arches. Do check these. Again there are many posts on this. It will also show the dealer you're not a newbie.

Lastly, service history is key so ask to see it as much as they have. try to take copies or at least write down what's been done and when. Take a notebook.

Good hunting!

. Cheers, Greg

here's an interesting video for the L322 model years and their associated common problems,

you might want to mute the first few seconds if you have children watching or nearby

I did, apologies; I couldn't post it at the time. Chap selling mentioned that he'd replaced the hoses recently as they'd split and seems to think he may have just under-tightened the hose. Here's a couple of pics

Thoughts?

They are the intercooler hoses, they do go quite often, and it may have been from when they were split.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Did the car feel good?
Did it pull really well? Responsive throttle?

You might find with that much oil there, the map sensors could do with a good clean up or replacing.

This is what mine looked like when I took them out, the one on the right had been cleaned up, sorry it is a bit blurred, but it will give you an idea.
Once cleaned up the car pulled so much better.

Unnecessary quote removed

I thought as much. Yes, pulled really well indeed. It's been a while since I've been in an L322 and it felt great!
