Help needed....and quickly?

Here’s the situation.....
Me and my beloved are heading to the RR dealer tomorrow,
to confirm on our new car.
Here’s the problem.....
I want to confirm on a 2018MY Vogue TDV6 with little,or no discount.
My missus wants to go with a 2017MY Vogue TDV6 that the dealer has in stock, with a sizeable discount.
Her problem is that the side strips that she likes,no longer come in chrome on the new model. Added to the fact that she isn’t keen on the ‘Velar’ front end.
What’s the thinking of you guys that know your RR’s?

Can’t stretch to the V8, unfortunately.

I’d be interested to see what MY17 you could get for the price of the MY18 Vogue.

How about a Vogue SE MY17?

I had a similar thought, but the V6 is sitting ready to go with the exact spec we’re after.

Then I’d go for the MY17. There’s very little wrong with a late ‘17 and I’d push for the best deal possible Thumbs Up

You will get hit hard with depreciation on this current model as when you come to sell there'll will probably be the facelift cars around that will be much more desirable and you/dealer will need to price it much lower to get it sold. Us shallow Fattie owner's are like magpie's, gotta have the newest shiniest trinket around. Thumbs Up

But there will always be something newer and even more shiny around the corner! Negotiating your way into a MY17 VSE would be your best defence against that one.

I'd wait. This is probably be the last 405 facelift. MY17 will probably be the least desirable as most people in that market will push to get the facelift.

@DMTA

You are looking at Vogue TDV6's in either MY 17 or 18. What is the price difference between the two after discount. If it's £10k ish I'd go MY17, if it's nearer £5k I would go MY18. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

If the discount was anywhere near 10k, there wouldnt be a decision to be made, but unfortunately it’s a lot nearer 5k.
My head says 2018MY, my WIFE says 2017MY.

Well that sounds like a normal discount (which was being offered before MY18 was announced) also allowing for the 2018 will be at full list and the 18 RRP will have gone up a touch. I'd tell the dealer to try a little harder Very Happy 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I tend to agree with Vogue.

Having been looking around myself I would expect to negotiate a discount of 9% ish on the MY17 list price, so it really depends on how the car is spec'd and what the original list price was. Knowing this will help.

Have you spec'd the MY18 car the same as the MY17 car on sale? If not have you worked out what price difference would be spec for spec?

Also, are you px'ing? If so I suspect they aren't guaranteeing a px price? How much do you think yours will decrease by when the time comes to complete the purchase of the MY18?

There are a few more figures you need to take into account when deciding, such as,

CAP, Insurance(s), Service Plan etc which you need to negotiate on each car before making the final comparison.

+1, you have to compare spec to spec and like for like, there can be a vast difference between two cars of the same model. I have just bought a VSE, with all the options ticked, there were around £10k in extras including £3k on 22"" wheels, similar sum for DS Steps, pano opening roof, premium paint etc etc list was £98k less discount 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
