United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover SE Td6 Epsom Green
L322 front end knocking

Hi guys recently changed both front bottom arms along with drop links 4months ago and now suddenly got a clunking noise coming from passenger side.checked most things that it could be but can't seem to pinpoint where it's coming from?as anyone else had this problem?also do the sway bar bushes supposter have slight movement ?Thanks jak

Not sure what u mean by that Stan lol .i changed everything apart from the sway bar rubbers and now got the clunking/knocking from the passenger side

Think I get which bit your talking about.but I avnt changed those rubbers as yet

Did you use OEM parts, or at least Lemforder or high quality?

Might just be they have gone already, had that happen before when using the ECP 'cheaper' part. Porsche 911 (996)

Hi m8 ye i got them off ebay from jgs4x4 😐not sure the quAlity but I'm pretty sure that could be my problem aswell as I've got quite a bit of movement on the front /rear arm .to be honest I'm hoping it is them as I've spent so much money on it 😲

Did you replace the ball joints that fit into the hubs at the same time as you changed the arms ? Those are large and prone to wear and cause vertical play in the joint. You cant easily test this when the car is grounded as the car weight keeps the joint compressed together. I could only see / test for play when the joint was fully split apart and it was under no loading.

You should be able to hear from which side the knocking is coming as a starter. V8 or else ...

Yes m8 changed the lot and suddenly its come back .I'm almost certain now it's the sway bar d bushes and drop links

I too have an annoying knock after renewing the front bushes and drop links , mine just seems to knock for the hell of it ! theres a cobbled road on my way to work and the car doesn't knock at all going over that Mad
