Local indy LR garage had the part in stock but didn't have the time to fit it for me as I got there quite late.

Took the plunge and did it myself so I feel like I fit in now Wink

For info, that Fixxit tape hadn't really worked as it had slid down the pipe and exposed some of the crack again.

Here is the crack in it's full glory

I didn't bother claiming on the warranty (probably not covered anyway) but the company I got the RR from has offered to pay for the part so I'm happy enough.

There''s nothing like the feeling of satisfaction from fixing your own car and depriving the stealers of easy money Thumbs Up

That's a pretty big split there Thumbs Up

Hopefully you are now all sorted.

As Craig said do the other side too in due course. They are less prone to failure but it's worth doing both as Sod's law says it will follow suit fairly shortly!

This place is a mine of RR info. We are all here Bcos we are suckers for punishment. Most common faults are covered, along with some unusual stuff!

If you like your music btw Best addition you will make is a Bovee tune2air wma1000 and the iPod lead. Adds the Bluetooth function that the car should have...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Next job is go buy some contact cleaner and clean the two MAPs. In terms of difficulty on par with changing the top intercooler hoses. Back to Halfords. It may also help with black smoke on acceleration. ______________________________

Did a 150 mile round trip today and it all seems good now, so at least I might get some sleep tonight.

I already have the ipod lead (bought it before I picked the car up) as everything I have is on my old fashioned ipod as well as my phone so that'll probably be enough for now. I do have an ipod bluetooth adaptor somewhere that I use to channel Alexa through a BOSE Sounddock so I might give that a go and see if it works.

See, I was doing so well with fixing the hose, and then you go and throw technical terms at me !
