Misfire

I used the search and got lots of stuff on misfires but not exactly the same symptoms. Mine only misfires (and not every time) after a gentle motorway run then gliding to a stop at say the motorway roundabout (tank about 1/4 full). It misfires when I accelerate away - only for a couple of seconds then it clears, I had hoped that my recent service and new supercharger might have some effect but no - however it did not misfire at all while using higher octane fuel but this might have just been coincidence as it doesn't do it all the time.

Any ideas anyone? Geoff

Don't want to start the debate but the Indy said try other than Supermarket fuel. I'll give it a go. Geoff

Only time I've ever had a misfire was when my fuel pump was dodgy and on its way out! Ave you changed the fuel filter lately ? Just a thought 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Fuel filter changed at service (I think) last week. It's not a big deal yet as its only for a few seconds then clears and no faults show up, I'll try a change of fuel see if it makes any difference. I have run various vehicles for longer than I care to remember on Tesco fuel (easily the nearest filling station) with no problems but there is now a new BP garage opened nearby (not quite as close as Tesco) so I'll give a few tanks of BP Ultimate a try. Previous vehicles were all diesels though maybe they are less "fussy" about what they are fed. Very Happy Geoff

It might also be worth throwing a can of injector cleaning jollup in the tank as well, you never know.
