anyone decatted their td6 ?? done this on eother derv motors ive had and along with a remap they respond very well to it

How do you feel about the ever greater levels of air pollution, driving still more onerous emissions legislation that will mean that all of us will be legislated and / or taxed out of running big diesels in the not too distant future? Would I want to remove my catalyst and make thing worse for everyone? Probably not.

honestly , I don't want to get into any conversation about climate change and our governments ridiculous crusade to rid the roads of combustion powered vehicles so on that note can a MOD delete this thread

I removed the egr valve from my td6 about five years ago and at the time noticed the engine seemed to run more smoothly and surprisingly the fuel consumption went down nominally. I now get 30-33 mpg consistently. Given that the egr valve was significantly gummed up with a black sticky tar it's hardly surprising things improved. Whether cleaning out the egr valve and refitting would have produced the same results I'm not sure. I did however clean out the valve to as new condition so that it could be refitted easily if requirements change in the future.

Just because a reply wasn't what you wanted to hear, it was still a polite and relevant answer to your original question; I don't see why this should justify thread deletion.

My D3 responded very well to its Decat
And the V8 has already had a pair of Decat downpipes made up for it, ready to fit

It's a big lump of a car in the Td6, so should make a noticeable difference
