Might not be your issue mate but my key was ok on the boot button but not on the lock and unlock buttons thers a small piece of plastic inside the key same size as the printed circuit board and i found that the small contacts on the piece of plastic wernt making contact with the pcb |

Bit crude this mate but i selotaped mine to the board untill i can get a new key sorted up to now it seems to keep the plastic in place so it toutches the contacts on the pcb i have a guy near me in cheshire who says he can do me a new key fully programed etc for £110 but trying to get hold of him is hard work |

hmmm , it sounds like mine has re-coded ok but the car didn't lock / unlock after I had performed the procedure which suggests it may not have done ? , no harm in trying what you have done pal |

ok pal will give it a go , I did note that my key flashed while in the ignition after what I thought was an unsuccessful coding attempt , maybe that was a sign it had coded rather than the car locking / unlocking |

I seem to remeber on the later p38 rangers the resync was confirmed by the key flasing when inserted in ign i can only assume this still applys but i could be wrong after all thess keys are made by bmw or were made by bmw |
