When servicing any LR's under 3 years old, I use genuine filters.

You mention it being not only a non dealer, but a non specialist too I've run complex cars many times before and the one thing that I would never do is let a non specialist near one.

And one that was offered to me, as an Approved 16 plate car, with 17,600 on the clock on no service done yet. I turned it down.

Have a look at how many 2.7's (D3/RRS) have died with something as simple as fitting the oil filter incorrectly... |
