I thought I would take a quick look at my MAPT sensor after 650 miles, mostly fast motorway, and was surprised to find it as dirty as last time, when I assumed it had not been cleaned in its 66k mile life.
Conclusion ? I don't think it is worth worrying about and in future I intend to clean it every oil change. (Yearly).

It had a full Inspection 1 service at the M D last week so all new filters, oil etc ??
It hadn't used a drop of oil since turbo drain mod in January and I have never seen any exhaust smoke since either. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999
V reg 2.5td P38 Rioja red 1999- 2006
53 reg td6 Vogue Oslo blue 2006- 2015
11 reg 4.4 TdV8 Vogue SE. Baltic blue 2015- date.

just checked mine and it had a very light coating of soot and thats after about 3 weeks.... ... - .- -.

I must dig mine out just out of interest.

What car are we talking here? I guess theres one on my Td6 where would I find it? My mpg almost doubled when i cleaned it on my old Transit!!
