Got asked by a body shop if the body is aluminium.

I know the 405 is all-aluminium, with several hundred kilos shed as a result, so I thought the 2.6 ton 322 was all-steel.

So I ran around the body with a magnet:

STEEL:
Rear Quarter
Rear tailgate upper & lower
Roof

ALUMINIUM:
Bonnet
Front Wings
Door skins

So more more aluminium than I thought.
No surprise then the bits that are steel are highly prone to rust!

Thought it was interesting...

Another way of telling, is the where the rust is!

If I remember right, the bonnet was the single biggest aluminium pressing on a car at the time....
