When I bought my 4.4 tdV8 , 2 years ago this week, it came with a new mot and a full MD service. In addition to the 2 year Approved Warranty I got 2 additional annual services and 2 Mot's.

Today I have had the final "free" service and the 2nd mot.
In addition I have had the front brake discs and pads replaced because they were highlighted to me 6 months ago on a free safety check so I have been monitoring their ware .
Also I asked them about the tech bulletin LTB 00454 about the misfire "cough" problem at 75 / 80.mph. They offered to do the software update as a free gesture.

So from today I have no warranty to give me peace of mind, because I have decided against extending it for a further year given that I only average 5k miles per year.

I intend to do as much servicing work as I can myself but will use a good local independent for backup giving that I am nudging 70 and not as nimble as I used to be.

The car has only let me down once in 10,000 miles when I got reduced performance due to a stuck air changeover valve.

This was soon sorted under warranty and at the same time they changed the 4 inlet manifold hoses.

I have also had the turbo drain mod done under warranty and a replacement upper tailgate under the corrosion warranty.

Looking back over the 2 years I am very happy with the dealer support I have had and looking forward to keeping the car for several years to come . G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Which main dealer did you originally use ? Are you going to use AJR in Derker as your specialist , I here the have a good reputation .

The main dealer was Farnell Bradford.
And yes I will be using AJR.
I called round to see them about 12 months ago and was very impressed.
Also when I asked them if they could activate the digital speedo for me they immediately plugged in their laptop and sorted it within 10minuites and wouldn't take any payment. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999
