My new TDV8 after years of dreaming.

Hello

I've been a member for a number of years. However, after what feels like an eternity of dreaming about owning a Range Rover specifically waiting until I could budget for the TDV8 I picked one up a few days ago. Coming from several Freelander 2's the difference is staggering. What a machine and worth every penny. I've taken out a comprehensive Warrqnty Direct. (See how the first year goes for reliability and then reassess in the next year). They've paid out for me in times of the past and probably about the only decent warranty company worth having. The difference in running costs don't look to be as big a jump as what I was expecting but still slightly nervous. I'm not a millionaire but a very hard working piano teacher and musician. Like a lot of you I'd imagine are the same. Work hard for the treats like these. I'm over the moon with it and was worth the wait.
Best wishes to you all Smile

Well done and congratulations!

I'm a good few months into my long awaited first RR ownership. It's really something else!

You've certainly done your research being a member for this long pre-ownership.

. Cheers, Greg

After nearly 3 years, I'm still very impressed with my 3.6. With a little over 2 years before the lease is up I'm starting to wonder do I upgrade or keep for a few years without the drag of lease payments. ______________________________

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

I've just bought one, same year and very low mileage but in black.
Once the kids sat in the back there was no going back!!

It's not even arrived yet but I can't wait. Like you I've hankered after one for bloody ages!!

I'll put some pics up once I take delivery.

Well done, I am like you (almost - not been on the forum very long) just got my first Range Rover and worth the wait, but the reliability issues result in a warranty a compulsory requirement, so like you have ensured the warranty in place for the period I intend to keep the vehicle, I like the reassurance no big repair bills!

Look really good Thumbs Up

Thanks for the lovely responses. I've just done my first fill up since getting it back home after 3 days. I'm getting 26mpg average. I do a fair bit of town work, no motorway and some A roads. I was only getting 29-30mpg from the freelander. I was expecting 18-20mpg so this is a nice surprise. Such an amazing vehicle. You'd never know it was 10 years old.

Congrats

The first job on the list for me would be to change the 2 top intercooler hoses don't wait for them to go.

If you did your reading up, which you look like you have, you will be aware that these can go pop, so a new set for a few quid is worth the investment. Thumbs Up

Enjoy!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks, yes the trader was very honest about the intercooler hoses and said they'd been checked and were fine but could go at any point. . I'm also going to have all the fluids and oils changed too. Over the next few weeks or so.
