In the middle of installing a BT module and connecting up my iPhone. Used navcoder for get BT unit to pair and that bit all works nicely as do all the steering wheel buttons etc. Problem I've hit is the mic. The overhead mic has three wires yellow, thin black and thicker black. I need to trace them back to the rear of the car (using bits of old loom to save ripping the car apart) but am having no luck. Anyone done this already and know where I can pick up these three wires? Its the last bit to do and sods law has just kicked in. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

The wires basically run from the mike to the ULF. If you have the voice control module they do make a quick stop there first.

I have a re-pinned loom (54pin plug and big white plug) from Adam at l322.com into the bmw ulf. All the phone functions for the ulf are working and integrating with the car (buttons etc). The only bit of the re-pinned loom I have yet to connect up is the mic. I tried tracing the wires back to the original 54pin plug but none of the colours seemed to match up...

@SteveMFr - I seem to recall you mentioned the pinout from l322.com had a mistake somewhere - I'm getting a couple of strange things with the BT iphone integration (doesn't hang up the call from the RR only the phone, causes the central screen to reboot occasionally etc.) and am wondering if this is the cause. Do you remember what the pinout mistake was? "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

I've looked and I can't find my notes... But I believe the probs were related to cradle/mic (IIRC, amongst other things, the correction on L322.com where the mic wires are switched is incorrect).

I can do either - I have the loom connected up to the centre arm rest even though I am at the moment not using that bit.

Ok well up front there are only four wires used in the 18 pin connector and should be as follows:
