Gearbox problem??

Hi, I've noticed recently that when accelerating at around 4K revs that if I take my foot off the throttle that the rev counter will go up to around 4.5K revs and then I get a jolt, like someone has hit me from behind, as the gearbox changes. Any ideas? Not very easy to describe. Cheers Chris 2007 Range Rover Supercharged in Zermatt Silver with Jet Leather

Is it happening at a specific gear shift, like the 3-4 shift ?? There are a few posts on that particular one, replacement of the pressure controlling solenoid (black) will solve that issue. http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic17348.html?highlight=gearbox

Another thing to check if for coolant in your oil/ATF or vice versa. That means the relevant cooler has burst internally. One mine it was both ways, coolant going into the ATF and ATF into the coolant (overflowing expansion tank with oil/coolant sludge).

Have your ECUs been updated to the last available software ?? (IID and Faultmate allow you to do that). It worked for my 4.2 SC eliminating engine management light coming on and it could help with gear shifting as well. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

How many miles have you done also have you ever changed the fluid?
I had a new gearbox under warranty at 98k it was a solenoid but they changed the lot but funnily enough a fluid flush and change improved it no end
