At those prices no wonder our FFRR are being stolen and then recycled in places like Malaysia and Singapore.

I can remember a few years ago going ashore here and seeing 100's of the most awful coloured Mercedes E class in shades of solid brown, blue, red and beige with cloth interiors and asked the driver way such awful colours and spec - prices are so crazy for new cars (Don't forget Malaysia is the land of that automotive jewel the Proton - and who would want one of them, so the Malaysian Govt taxes imported cars very very heavily to protect Proton) that locals would rather have plain jane cast-offs from the UK than buy the locally made car, even if it costs them a fortune. When I got home I searched the internet for car dealers in the UK specialising in exporting these cars and found they were paying up to 25% more for your plain jane E class in Beige than any MB dealership in the UK would give you, and they were still maying money even after shipping them half way round the world. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |
