4x4 jaguars are nothing new, the recently deceased X Type was a 4WD based on Mondeo underpinnings - the front of that one looks very Volvo C30/ new S60 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

I think the point is this is possibly the first "Purpose Built 4X4" rather than simply an normal car with 4x4 drive.

Could look rather nice and Jags are all great quality these days Thumbs Up

With the acknowledged world leader in 4x4 systems "in house" it is about time that Jaguar used some of LR's know how - after all LR has certainly used Jaguar's interior design and suspension expertise to good effect in the last few years. I'm only surprised that there haven't yet been 4WD versions of the current range, especially the R models - I suppose that the extra weight of the extra running gear is what has put them off until now. Could this new Jag SUV also be based on the new FFRR L405 underpinning to help defray the developement costs I wonder.
I cannot read the item in Autoexpress from here - their website is so slow that my wireless dongle keeps giving time-out failures! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
