1000 miles in 30hrs

Its weekends like this that just wouldn't cut it in many other cars!!

The car was perfect and just ate the miles as the tarmac fed them to it!!

Glasgow to London and back in 2 days basically. Took the kids down to a bmx gig and it was like driving to the shops and back. In all fairness Monday caught up with me and I struggled staying awake heading home from work on Monday night but overall even on Monday it was still going strong.

2.5 tanks of diesel and 3 happy children!! Can't say fairer than that!!

Thank you JLR!!! all smug in my new plug!

Pfft.. I did Carnarvon to Sydney- 4700km - in 4 days in a Hillman Hunter when a lot of that trip was on dirt roads - with no air conditioning during an Aussie summer!

2.5 tanks of diesel? Shocked

My SDV8 doesn't even use that amount when making the same trip. 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool

Yep - down to the EuroTunnel, then either turn right for Bordeaux or left for the Alps

The trip might take longer if the speeding tickets found their way back to the UK Whistle

2.5 tanks does sound on the high side - I'd normally see over 550 to a tank even with my lead foot and an SDV8

We did that trip three times. We bought the car new in 1971 and gave it away in 2008 (it's still on the road). It was a Hunter GT but with Sceptre badges (called a Royal 660 down here to get away from the high insurance on anything labelled with a GT badge).

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Indus Silver

Last September I (accompanied by my son as co-pilot) did a little road trip from Europe back to home on the south coast. 1247 miles in 18.5 hours including the cross channel ferry. Obviously helped having an SC and crossing Germany. Whole trip was 2900 miles in 5 days and included smoking brakes after chasing a Ferrari across the Furka Pass. Finished the long day and both agreed we could do it again the next day.
