Need a new spare key - any recommendations?

I have lost my spare key for my L322 and must get around to buying a new one. I have been quoted over £700 by a main dealer Shocked
The key I have is missing the blade too.
Can anyone recommend a less expensive route (other than eBay as I have heard some horror stories).
Thank you!

Try Dan @ Duckworths for the part

You will also need it pairing with the car, but hard to see how that can be more than 15 mins of labour - but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Surrey so not sure that Duckworths is an option...
The dealer wanted 2 hours labour Rolling Eyes

You can pair a key with an IID tool. ______________________________

If you have 2002-2005 I can help with immobilizer chip, casing and remote (it would be an upgrade to flip style) but you would need a blade to copy

Have you tried it & 100% certain ?

When I did that, they were able to cut the physical key from the VIN, but said it still needed pairing......

As the VIN is visible from outside the car, you have to produce the V5 to order a key.

I was also able to get a used key I bought from eBay paired to my car, so I think the key isn't coded to the car - the car is coded to accept the key - but could be entirely wrong.....

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Cairns Blue

Couple of months back we had to have a new key for our 2003 L322.

We ordered one from the dealers and I went over one Saturday morning for them to pair it to the car, after 2 hours they came out and said that they couldnt pair it as their was a fault with the new car supplied by LR!!

So another 2 weeks waiting for another key to come, this one worked.

However....

Now the drivers door lock has failed which has been on order from LR for the past two weeks, hopefully the new key that we have will now work with this new door lock......

just to help others looking for key's for the older 2002-2005 BMW electrics and keys

there is 2 types of key that can be used

the original "lollypop key" and a later 2005-2010 flip key can be adapted for use with 2002-2005

the keys are made up of 3 components

1'st is the key housing with blade, fixed blade with lolly pop key or flip blade key the key can be copied by a good locksmith, the key will work in the door but do nothing with the ignition

second component is the RF (central locking) circuit this only operates the remote central locking and arms the alarm, this is programmed by yourself, these car be reused second hand just SYNC them to the car (lots of guides about so won't bore you)

the third component is the difficult one, the immobilizer chip, I belive that land rover pre program 6/7 chips from factory, you get 3 instantly, any ordered will be coded to the car's ecu (if you have changed your BCM or EWS ordering a key from the dealer will be useless)

limited members and BMW owners will be able to help with the immobilizer chip, I can help with the chips but I do need the EWS unit here to program

Hope this helps clearing up confusions with the keys
