Why can't you "quote" the most recent reply.......

I find it so frustrating that there's no "Quote" button for the last post in a thread. Have to resort to quoting the previous reply and then cut and paste the reply I actually want to quote and change the member name. Quite a faff really Confused

Is this something that can be added Martin?? 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

I believe it's been decided against adding that function as it's assumed if you're commenting directly below the previous comment then that's where your comment is directed, and that's why it allows you to quote previous posts.

1. It doesn't necessarily show on all devices (e.g. iPad type things)

2. Quoting causes an overhead on the forum and is discouraged by the admins, and will be deleted if misused. For previous comment just use "^^^" or type @ poster before commenting .

It's useful when wants to quote just a small bit of the previous message.

Does it really reduce overheads?

I agree it's annoying when someone quotes a message without trimming it and, say, that message is long with lots of pix. Ron B. VK2OTC
