My westie seems to have developed a bit of a flat spot at around 1500-1700rpm. Some days its fine but has become more frequent recently.

Check your top hoses for splits - very common problem and can cause similar symptoms |

Good suggestion Graeme but top hoses were renewed a few months ago with another issue so unlikely to be them.

Fattie in for MOT today so got the dealer to investigate the hesitation issue. Told them what I thought it was (thanks all for info) so they checked it all out, cleaned the MAP sensor, updated the PCM software and (touch virtual wood) it seems to have solved the issue, at least for the 20 miles or so I have done since picking it up.
