Remap is the best if your looking for power increase. depends how much power your looking for as TD6 remaps give around 25-30bhp increase. but need to be careful of the torque increase and the TD6 gearboxs not the most reliable and with remap the added torque wont help.

Save up for a TDV8 Whistle

Not entirely helpful or constructive, but semi-serious - IMHO the TD6 will always feel a bit gutless Embarassed

I have to agree with Alistair.
Was gonna buy my pals very well sorted TD6, mapped and de-egr'd. Drove it, found it sluggish (first L322 I drove). Drove a standard one and it made his look better. Then went out as a passenger in a TDV8 and started saving my pennies. We've driven each other's back to back and it was night and day. 2007 Vogue TDV8 with 255/55/20's fitted

Other than a performance air filter..... I did that on my TD6 and took the EGR off, plus had a remap from JE Engineering. Made it much better.

Traded last year for a 4.4 TDV8 and night and day doesn't come close to describing the difference.

If you do what you list, and then keep it whilst you save for your next one, it will have been money well spent, as you will prob keep the TD6 longer than you would otherwise, whilst TDV8's depreciation faster..... play the longer game.

Don't do any further performance mods to the TD6 though, as further work for BHP gets expensive....

I know the v8td is a far better and that the td6 never will be as good as it , i was just looking to sweeten the td6 a bit . To be honest no ffrr will ever be fast, i never expected it to be. I have other toys for my speed fix.
Thanks for your input guys , remap here i come. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

....and I had the stage 2 BM54 amp upgrade from Baris as I like my music..... sounds unrelated, but I never had an issue with hearing the engine noise after that, made it much less intrusive when pulling away.... there was more induction noise with a performance air filter......

The TD6 is more than usable and I loved mine - you just have to plan a bit and work it a bit more if you want to "press on".

Let us know how you get on.....

My Td6 is remapped, but still has the EGR system. TBH you just have to bear in mind it's not going to be a Ferrari, but that said, remapped, I've never been left thinking "my god, come on!" while bouncing up and down in the seat Clarkson style 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped Smile
