Thermostat mod done. General observations

Followed Petes write up and replaced the inners of the old stat with the modded version. Also replaced top and bottom hoses and renewed coolant. After I refilled coolant I noticed (via iid tool) on a short drive the cars coolant temp is between 85/88 degrees.
When it's sat at idle it's 93/95 degrees. Does this sound about right? I've also got a slight issue with the cars temp gauge , it's now sitting at a tiny bit to the right of 12 o clock? Haven't noticed before tbh but I've not long had my pixels fixed and wondering if it's upset the needle. I presume it shouldn't move past 12 o'clock if the cars sat at 95 degrees? Anyway car seems a lot more settled and it's not as toxic under the bonnet after a drive so jobs a good one..

The temps seem about right and mirrors what I've been experiencing since I carried out the mod last year.

The temp gauge looks like it may have been disturbed during the pixel fix as the reading on the gauge is an average reading based on a given lower temp and an allowed higher temp. Sounds a bit daft but there are threads on here relating to the temp range and the gauge reading.... ______________________________

That's great. May have to see about sorting the needle out as it's always sat bang on 12 o'clock and it keeps catching my eye. I have the temp on my screen anyway through intravee so I can see it's not going overly high.. thanks Thumbs Up

Cheers gents. Don't think I can live with it like that as it will get my OCD into overdrive. Laughing . Shall look into getting it rectified. Glad the temps are spot on though..
