Squeaky door

My 2012 was in the dealers recently and when it returned the drivers door squeaked just a little so I figured I'd just oil it. I finally got round to looking yesterday and there is some dense foam in the area where the door hinges are which looks sort of torn and it's this squeaking when the door opens into it. I can't easily remove it as it's compressed by the open door and the same stuff isn't really visible on the passenger side so I wondered if anyone knew what it was and if I should just pull it out and discard it or take it back to the dealers?

Thanks!

New cars have foam in various places to protect them during transit to the dealers, maybe this is a leftover bit of that. I don't think it's meant to be there, my door certainly has nothing like that. Only Range Rovers since 1988

A little lunchtime investigation and I've solved the issue. In my car (2012) there is a formed dense foam pair of things that sit between the bonnet hinge and the bottom part of the windscreen pillar. These have both become unstuck and the pillar section had fallen down into the door jam.

I managed to remove the pieces in the door with a long fingers tool and with the door almost shut and have stuck them back down for now Smile
