LR used car MOT warranty

can someone who has or has had the LR 2 year used car warranty explain how the MOT warranty works...

from what i gather i pay for the MOT and any work that is required is rectified with a £50 excess? ... - .- -.

I paid for my MOT last year , but it passed with no advisories . I think the cover for work if it fails is limited to £750 ?

I am tempted to take it to an independent this year and tell them to go over it with a hint that if they find anything border line that I can claim for if it fails.

Hi Stan I may have a spare warranty booklet (and probably all the LR leather wallet and gubbings) yours if you want them. But from a quick read you are right but the maximum single claim of £750.00

I've had the MOT Test "insurance" if that's what you mean Stan? I've not needed to claim, but the writing in the book suggests it works the same as the extended warranties and just as you suggest. So

Have MOT and get a fail (doesn't work for advisories). Check failed item is on the list in the book. Get all of the paperwork to the Warranty Admin at you local dealer (Proof of MOT Ins; Proof of Service record; Proof of MOT failure with specified item). Warranty Admin makes the call to see if the claim is accepted. If it is, the repair is covered with a £50 excess.

I'm guessing you have the book so I've told you nothing new (!), but if you haven't got the book then PM me an address and I'll send you mine as my cover has now expired. Mike - MPx

Have you got a follow up to this Stan as I’d be interested in how this works. Is it better to get the car Mot’ed independently then follow up on a claim if necessary. 2021 SVautobiography Dynamic Black ( Black wheels need to go )

i havnt had the occasion to use the mot warranty so no follow up as such..

but for convenience i would let a LR dealer do the mot and handle any work [via carcare plan] that needs doing... ... - .- -.

Cheers Stan, just wondered about t&c’s ( I have read but must be more to it than that )as it’s easier to MoT locally than a trip to Swansea. 2021 SVautobiography Dynamic Black ( Black wheels need to go )
