New Landie in the house.

Tomorrow all being well I'll be picking up our new to us Freelander (05) TD4 GS for the Mrs.

We looked at quite a few Discovery 2's but they were a little over priced for a good honest facelifted one that didn't smell like an ashtray.

Freelander seems to tick all the boxes, she wants something to give security / safety of the 4x4 after 2 none fault accidents, later of which some Censored ran a red and took the front off the car.

The one we have gone for is like new and has been very well looked after, it looks real nice in black but I bet it'll be a mare to keep clean. Rolling Eyes Fortunately she has a short comute across town and no real A roads to get road spray on it Thumbs Up
I wasn't going to get one with the K series engine as I've witnessed those lumps going south to many times though fortunately not mine.

Quite looking forward to it, we've given our Laguna to my Dad having got it all fixed, hes looking forward to it too so everyones a winner!

We'll also have an all diesel fleet to then! Just need to get a TDi lump in the 110 and I can process some veg oil Thumbs Up 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Yeah , I felt all tall in it at a massive 5ft 10 though my head didn't touch cloth Laughing

I also noticed it appears to have more elbow room than the Disco 2's mainly due to the lack of the centre console box, undoubted the Disco will be wider. She rarely used that on my last disco so no great loss there. And she would be unlikely to take it off piste or need low range. It does have HDC and traction control , ideal for our street and the odd trips to Mum and Dads in the Snow. Last time we ended up ferrying water out to them due to freezing main supply.

Only down side I can see is that it won't safely pull the twin axle caravan.. technically it will but not within my safety margins (85% rule Thumbs Up ) so the FFRR is here to stay, along with the 110 for my DIY master of disaster classes Wink

Taking in to account its more economical than the Laguna its replacing and all in all can't go wrong... fingers crossed Whistle 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS
