United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Scotia Grey
'07 TDV8 One year on...

Evening all,

Well, as the title says, just about a year ago I came across a very tidy, low mileage (52k) 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE advertised for sensible money. With the "man maths" done it took about 20 seconds to persuade my dear wife that this would be rather an improvement on our rather tired Td5 Disco. We sold the Td5 on Auto Trader after a few days and got a fair price, rather more than the offer from the dealer, which made the upgrade affordable (ish!).

It's extremely comfortable, very quick for a lump that weighs the best part of 3 tonnes and it uses less fuel than a Td5 Auto! We've taken it all over the place, 15,000 miles in a year, including regular motorway trips and the lanes around our area. It's taken kids to school and been all over our farm, sometimes loaded up with a couple of chainsaws and all their associated bits and pieces. Over all these miles it's returned an average of 22.65mpg according to my Road Trip app thingy. Our '09 D3 HSE is returning less than that!

So far it's not cost any more than I would have expected, I've just had 4 new Pirelli Scorpions fitted and there are a couple of fairly minor things that I would like to get done in the next few months. I've changed all the interior lights for leds and also upgraded the sidelight bulbs to leds. Before next winter I need to change the Hid bulbs in the adaptable headlights as, to be honest, they are rubbish! If anyone has any hints or tips for smartening up the front Brembo brake calipers then I would be grateful as these are faded and look a bit nasty too!

Overall we really have enjoyed our first year with the fatty, it does everything we ask of it in comfort and still leaves a big permagrin with whoever has been driving it! I can't think of anything else that I'd rather drive!

I don't post on here much but often have a look around this and the Disco3 forum too as there is so much information!

Ed, A happy Range Rover owner. Very Happy Very Happy

That's a lovely looking car Smile

Do you know what the original registration number was? It looks like our old car.

Thanks bigee and FrankN, it looks even better for a wash after being that dirty!

rar110, yes, it gets used for some proper work too. Thank you, we like our Deeres almost as much as we like our Land Rovers!

dhallworth, it was originally an OY07 plate, spent all its early years near its original Oxfordshire dealer.

Just as an update, between myself and my wife, we put about 600 miles on it in 4 days last week, including one day of well over 300 miles, and both agree that we don't know what else would have done that in such comfort!
