This engineer and his wife look like total nerds to me - no wonder they are not happy with LR and and don't find a solution for their car. All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

I don't get why anyone wou;d keep a lemon for 2 years, then put stickers on it saying it was and therefore that they are idiots

They seem to enjoy the whining and attention.

Life is too short - if you're not happy, sell it and move on

I suspect the motivation here is to try and coerce JLR or the main dealer into taking the car back and providing a full refund

Oh and of course not deducting anything for the 2 years we've used the car.....

I know and aren't brake pads and discs consumables anyway...an engineer should know that.

Still, my point was the bad publicity given the recent comments on here about JLR customer relations or the lack of them  ______________________________

Regardless of the issues that is no way to go about getting them sorted. Nobody feels kindly towards customers who behave like that. As some know I have ongoing issues with a JLR product and I have found their customer service to be very good. What they don't have at their disposal is a magic wand though and as a retired engineer the bloke should well know that. Mechanical stuff breaks from time to time but behaving the way he has really doesn't generate any good will.

I think all of us on here are well aware that JLR products do have a patchy reliability record but that could be down to the fact that they lead the field with innovative products that sometimes break under normal use. These are usually put right on the next iteration but then they introduce new ideas and then these break down now and again, nothing new in the automotive world.

JLR lead the world in every day use 4X4 vehicles that's why they drive like every day cars but can and will tackle the most extreme terrain, so of course like every other auto manufacturer in the world you will get the occasional lemon. I think though that that these old duffers regretted the purchase after a few problems, I mean the camera is no good in the wet and decided that after two years and a bit of unnecessary publicity would get them their money back.

Still I, probably like others on here have seen a lot of active duty around the world and can testify that I wouldn't have made it home on many furious occasions if it wasn't for a Land Rover. Like us they were first off the boat and last back on and sometimes with too many parts with holes in after a nasty engagement but they still made it back and because of those facts I've been buying Land Rover products ever since.

Sort of agree with that, but don't mention the jacks , and I have yet to discover a car that has a micro wiper on the camera.. so they are all pants in the rain... if I can't see with my cameras, I get out of the car and wipe the lens clean before continuing with the reversing maneuver But I suppose it's too far for an old git to walk, and they might get wet as well  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Just to add to it I have discovered that in certain wet conditions the rear view door mirrors don't work either  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
