crank or cam position sensor up the duff possibly leading to a mismatch in the readings. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Update for the Garage. They think the timing chain has slipped?? Is this common/possible? I think it is the Bank 2 Cam 2 sensor. If they replace that then see if the fixes the rest of them.

It has rattled since I have had but did the usual checking on forums and it seemed to cause no issues. The car hasn't missed a beat before this happened and there was no sign of it happening. I still think its a sensor and the garage aren't really sure what they are doing. |

Anyone had a timing chain replaced? How much did it cost? |

I would have expected some other damage if timing chain had slipped so my first thought would be camshaft sensor.

So, After no car for a week. The specialist has had a look on their systems and it would seem something has slipped as all sensors are providing readings. Going to do a compression test to check they Cylinders are ok and then set about opening her up to have a check what has gone wrong.

I've just been quoted £1800 for chains, tensioners ect and cam cover gaskets and a couple of other seals..thought that was reasonable for the amount of work involved 👍 |
