Non start issue

My old boy has a m62 4.4v8 (03) some clown decided to hit his windscreen with a hammer in the passing over the weekend.

He had a new screen fitted yesterday. Now it won't start. Starters turning over nicely and it's throwing up a load of kbus faults and eas is also inactive. I've also noticed the key takes a while to activate the click from the steering lock. After about the third try it works.. I noticed the windscreen guy has somehow managed to splice the power cable to the rain sensor and it looks like it's the live and earth wire that's damaged..could the damaged cable cause an interuption to the kbus and somehow affected an immobiliser or the column..battery's been in the ctek all night and it's still the same...
