Thanks Stan Sad

For the love of god please don't watch this rubbish. It is not a realistic view of caravanners, it's embarrassing and gringe worthy to watch. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Thought he was ok, just a bit nervous about France. At least he was giving it a go.

I say as I leave for Le Mans. to pick up my hopefully fixed Range Rover...

Was this the same planet that we all inhabit? That's nothing like caravanning that we do. Not sure how theat enormous fat heifer squeezed her lardy carcass into the Eriba either.

We've been contemplating buying a caravan for a while now so looked forward to this programme with interest, hoping it would redress the balance from the 'Caravaner of the Year' series.

The CotY series was entertaining but the insight into the people caused a modicum of concern. No matter, they can't all be like that.....

Then, this new programme (series) came along and having seen who else caravanning attracts, I'm absolutely certain we won't fit in.

Therefor, having seen every type of person that the hobby attracts, it'll be hotels only for us.

If you're a caravaner and have reached this far on my post and are now poised to hammer the keyboard in response, I am joking, of course. The image the media want to portray is down to careful selection and clever editing.....I still wouldn't want to be pitched anywhere near any of them though.

That's some selective process though if they managed to find that many mongs for one programme. Laughing

Genuinely, I've not seen that many in all the years we've been caravanning. By and large, what we find are normal people who fall into one of 2 categories.
1. Like us, they have situations which hotels don't like. Dogs, kids, or people with disabilities such as wheelchairs etc. Hotels really don't cater for these despite laws saying they must.
2. People who prefer their own creature comforts, are early risers, perhaps don't like eating in restaurants and so on.

If we're honest, I don't like towing the thing but it is a price worth paying so I can have my dogs with me, I can have breakfast when I want (not on a hotel schedule) and we normally find ourselves amongst like minded people.

But that programme is definitely not representative of 99% of caravanners.

I didn't watch it, but we were away this weekend mountain biking in Wales, with caravan mates. They showed me some clips. It's awful, simply embarrassing and as far from reality as is possible for most caravanners I've ever met.

Fair to say every time a hobby is made into a reality show, it attracts the 'oddballs' and presents a poor image of that hobby.

Please don't judge me, I'm a caravanner....I also know someone called Keith AND he is a fisherman.... Rolling with laughter Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
