Engine Management Light - Supercharged

I have been driving round with my engine management light on for nearly 8 years. Initially the dealer replaced all sorts of sensors and gadgets and then said the cats were knackered. However, as I was happily clearing the MOT test thresholds, I decided to ignore it. I then visited a local independent who offered to sort it out at a cost of £1,000 plus parts; an offer also ignored.

Since then I have deeply resented the incessant glow of the orange light, a constant reminder that I was probably wrecking my motor, but resigned myself to it. Until now! Armed with my new IID tool, I started to become obsessed with clearing fault codes. I read up on the relevant codes and set out to sort it out the light myself - one day.

Recently, on removing the engine cover to do a few jobs, I noticed that a small insignificant rubber tube had been bodged up. This turned out to be the Full Load Breather Hose (Item 3 below).

It was a home made job wrapped in tape which concealed a broken plastic connector:

So I ordered a new one from Dan for £28 (LR003383), fitted it and cleared the fault. The light went out as it usually does, but, despite all sorts of engine abuse, it has remained extinguished. In the past, it has come back on after about 10 miles following clearing the fault.

Can that be it?

Driving has become a dark and lonely experience. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

yes , those pipes are the source of most lean running codes , pulling in unmetered air , especially where the hose connects to item 1 (in my case)
