Difference between US and UK.....

Heard this the other day on the radio from someone trying to explain the difference in outlook.......

Your neighbour arrives home with a very expensive brand new car (e.g. FFRR)

US - You admire the fact he has worked hard to be able to buy it and wonder how hard you have to work to afford something similar.

I'd be thinking, wow, there's a guy that has spent a small fortune, on a new car... it's a bit like my old car, only a huge amount of outlay, theft/damage risk, dealer only servicing, and huge VED tax bill.

Or am I just thinking I'm becoming Scottish?
