Olympic Warranties: Up for renewal.....

Good morning all,

Bought my 4.4 TDV8 this time last year and it came with 12 months warranty. Never knew who the warranty was with really and as I've had a faultless year I've not really been concerned.

Just had a letter from Olympic Warranties with their renewal quote of £229/year which seems fair enough, unless they're rubbish? Their Premier Plus Policy seems to cover most things but is limited to a £1000 claim limit, which might just cover an interior bulb replacement, but I'm more concerned with turbo or gearbox failure.

Just after a bit of advice, please?

Cheers.

£1,000 won't come anywhere near paying for a turbo or gearbox replacement, so I'd either not bother, or pay for a warranty that will cover those items. I would be surprised if such a thing would cost you less than a grand a year. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

The following thread should give you a clue. To be fair, I don't suppose this particular warranty company is any better or worse than any other.

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic41101-30.html Current: 2010 Range Rover L322
Vogue SE, TDV8 3.6, Bournville

Just read that thread Shocked pretty poor from the warranty company but a hefty pay out if they "admitted" it was covered. The analysis from Mikey (the repairer) was the assessment was incorrect. Typical for warranty firm to dodge the bullet.

Speaking with a pal with a D4 last night. His gearbox ECU threw it's toys out of the pram and the warranty firm have offered him 50% of the cost Sad Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I'm guessing you didn't buy it as an Approved Used from a LR Dealer with the 2yr LR warranty?

You could price up an LR warranty if it falls in their criteria (less than 7rs/100k i think)

Repairs on fatties can be big bucks so I would always have a warranty, especially for the big ticket items (that'll be most stuff with a FFRR then Rolling with laughter ) 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Cheers gents,

Just put my details into LR Warranty and it won't even quote (Price & 70,000 miles)?

May be worth contacting them.
I have a 2011 with 75k, just renewed in Jan cost £1400 but was £1100 year before.
Goes up with age / mileage.

Mines been in for a few bits, although probably cost less than the warranty I'd rather have that peace of mind. Thumbs Up 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue
