I was talking to BAS about a remap and how I have EGR emulators. He couldn't understand how the emulators would work with out disabling or removing the butterfly (inlet manifold tuning) valves. As BAS believes the butterfly valve closes when the EGR opens to ensure max exhaust enters the motor.
The emulators maker Gally/Autocode indicates the valve does appear to move even when the EGR opens, and remain open. Creating a mix of fresh air and exhaust entering the manifold.
My emulators have been fitted to my tdv8 for about 10,000km and have been great. The motor certainly runs quieter and smoother. This experience supports the Autocode's view that the butterfly valve stays open.
Anyone else have knowledge about this stuff? ______________________________
