Air suspension dropping

Afternoon everyone!
Hoping someone can make more sense of this than me!

Have a 2006 Td6 with a suspension fault.

Over time the front drops all the way down.
The front struts are both newish and not leaking.
The compressor is maybe 2yrs old and is about to have a new piston ring when I can fix the fault!!!!

There are no fault codes in the ECU.....

I am leaning towards a faulty valve body or a release valve as it obviously leaks slowly and is not loud enough to hear......

I'm assuming that the valve body releases the pressure when lowering the vehicle and diverts air to struts as required but then again it's a Range Rover so I might be well off the cause!

Has anyone come across this before and how did you rectify it?

Also can the valve body be repaired or can someone advise of a reasonably priced supplier?

Thanks for looking and thanks , also for ANY help or advice!
Ta!

Mike. Why is it, the easier it breaks, the more expensive it is?

What do you mean by "over time" - minutes, hours, days ? Does it happen only when car left standing (engine off) , or whilst in use?

A couple of things you could try:

Press the settings button to fix the height - see if that makes any difference?

Leave a door open (turn off the lights), or use diagnostic tool to disable the EAS - any change ? (EAS does stay alive after car is switched off and locked)

Valve block for the front is behind the inner wheelarch on the FR (UK drivers side) nearest the door. Worth a look there to see what sort of condition it is in.

If struts/bags are "newish" (how "newish" ?) then problem could be they weren't reconnected properly. in any case, also worth putting in off road height and doing the soapy water and lift test... .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Overtime can be a couple of hours, definitely overnights and always if left for a couple of days!

Newish means less than 1year for the ns and os was changed under warranty on Saturday.
(Was replaced because it was changed by parts supplier, not cos it was leaking!)

Have carried out the soapy water test with no results.

Will and disable the EAS and see wether it drops..
(If it does, what would you suspect?)

And will check the valve block also!

Will check back with the results!

Thanks again.
