thanks for the link , looks like something ill have to live with till it fails lol !

dosnt seem to be any conclusive evidence of what the fault can be on that thread

Ebay oil !!
Texaco / Texamatic ETL 7045E, DEXTRON III SPEC OIL - is for the Gm gearbox.
It's not cheap, I paid in the end £12 + vat a ltr x 10 ltrs to flush out and new filter etc
but certainly cheaper than a rebuild, It's got to be worth a go.
