There was some kind of lock recall around that time - not entirely sure what changed.

There was a software upgrade which meant that the OBD port could no longer be used to create a new key. I was asked to take mine to the dealer with both keys for the upgrade. |

Hmmm. What year is yours - dealer never mentioned that to me at the service. I'll ask next time anyway. |

If yours needs doing, then my tip is to buy a spare key from eBay - they don't cost much - when I had mine done they just reprogrammed all 3 keys as part of the recall, so I have a spare (albeit without the right blade inside) |
