Many thanks, it was confirming my thoughts. Its not like there is a huge amount of S/C models around anyway, I just can't believe someone went through the autobiography program and took things off!

These days I think you are better without RSE. I copied all our dvd's to a hard drive, connected it to a portable wifi hotspot and now the kids just connect their iPads. Means they have a huge choice of stuff. Works really well. And we take it on hols so they can watch stuff anywhere.

I think that the tide may just be beginning to turn against RSE on the used market. As others have said 1/ its a dated system with limited practicality 2/ its another thing to go wrong, ie something you need to put effort into to keep the car up to re-sale level and also, I'd like to add, 3/ when the time comes to sell in a few years time I think the buying market may well have distilled into a more 'purist' car lover base which is different to an options-ticking new buyer.

I have installed an HDMI interface into my RSE and with a lightning to HDMI adaptor we can put Netflix and any iPhone or iPad content and apps etc into the RSE screens 👍 Current: Supercharged 06 FFRR in Java Black

For what it is worth I have an 07 with RSE and all remotes etc still in their wrapping the bloke who owned it before me never used it and I have never turned it on so my guess would be it won't make a difference

Welcome, I'm also new here. All good points and yeah I agree I suppose even now (perhaps a bit like me) I'm looking at a S/C VSE as its an awful lot of car for the money but also as I am a massive LR and rangie fan. In a few years people looking for a nice rangie of this age will be enthusiasts etc. 2005 E60 M5 2006 L322 4.2 SC 2020 Tesla Model S Long Range -------- 2004 L322 4.4 Vogue, 2019 NP300 Navara, 2016 NP300 Navara, 2002 L322 4.4 HSE, 2006 (MY07) L322 S/C ,2001 330Ci Sport Track Car, 2005 650i Coupe, 2001 P38 Vogue, 2003 530i Sport Touring, 1999 P38 4.6 HSE, 2002 E39 M5, 1995 300zx TT Slicktop, 1997 M3 Evo, 1992 300zx TT Targa, 1998 323i Coupe |

Wow that sounds very useful, was that a difficult job? I've not looked but is there a guide anywhere to retrofit that? 2005 E60 M5 2006 L322 4.2 SC 2020 Tesla Model S Long Range -------- 2004 L322 4.4 Vogue, 2019 NP300 Navara, 2016 NP300 Navara, 2002 L322 4.4 HSE, 2006 (MY07) L322 S/C ,2001 330Ci Sport Track Car, 2005 650i Coupe, 2001 P38 Vogue, 2003 530i Sport Touring, 1999 P38 4.6 HSE, 2002 E39 M5, 1995 300zx TT Slicktop, 1997 M3 Evo, 1992 300zx TT Targa, 1998 323i Coupe |

I've got a MY16.5 FFRR with this RSE fitted but my kids prefer their Ipads which rather defeats the purpose and also means a waste of money. Would be v interested to hear if this was done on a L405 model and if so what was the process, I assume a DIY operation? Any tips greatly appreciated. Sorry for hijacking OP. |

These days kids are too demanding of technology to find RSE of any interest. Maybe when it was first available in cars, it was seen as bit of a novelty to keep the rear occupants amused, but these days, a couple of iPads is definitely the way to go.
