Hi,
I am chasing the origin of excessive oil consumption in my engine ( 1 L per 1000km )
I understood one possibility is a clogged PCV valve .

I had recently the "oil separator" replaced at my dealer ,

is the oil separator a different part from the PCV Valve ? or is it the same ?

Yes the oil separator is different to the PCV valve but is connected via the same pipe work . The separator takes the oil out of the crankcase ventilation fumes and returns it to the sump.
Do you have any oil leaks you can see as the pipe work can turn to mush and also a failing PCV valve can pressurise the engine and force oil out and the cam covers are also a common fail leaking oil.
