Applying EPB automatically when switching engine off

The owner's manual for my 2010 says the following:

Quote:
APPLYING THE EPB AUTOMATICALLY - EPB will be applied automatically if the ignition is switched off and the vehicle speed is below 2mph.

This doesn't happen on mine. Can anyone confirm that it does work for them?

The manual goes on to say:

Quote:
To prevent automatic operation, when the vehicle is stationery, press and hold the EPB switch in the release position. Within 5 seconds, switch off the ignition and continue to hold the EPB switch for a further two seconds.

I guess is possible that a previous owner has followed this procedure, however the manual doesn't describe how to re-enable this feature. I've tried repeating the procedure as described (maybe this operation acts as a toggle, switching on and off) and also the opposite, i.e. same procedure but holding EPB switch in the apply position, instead of release. Neither seems to have made any difference.

Anyone know anything about this? I know many are sceptical about the value of the EPB, but mine does seem to work pretty well, having adjusted them and my drive where I park the FF is on a slight slope. Current: 2010 Range Rover L322

I activated it with the IID tool. On the 4.4, if you press the off button whilst still in drive, the gear selector goes to park and the hand brake comes on automatically. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Thanks Stu - I will have a look at the configuration options.

The 3.6 is different. If I try to switch off the engine whilst in D, I just get a message saying something like Transmission not in Park and the engine continues to run. The transmission selector can only be moved by hand. That's clearly a difference between 3.6 and 4.4. Current: 2010 Range Rover L322

On my 2010 3.6TDV8 the EPB doesn't apply itself automatically when you stop the engine...
