Another possible dumb question?

My spec includes the Signature Meridian system which i'll be honest i'm very excited about, however as the AB has the middle of the range 825w system as standard, is the Signature option a terrible waste of money?

As per the wheels question below, i've never spent more than a few hundred ££'s on Audio upgrade options, so £4k is a fair chunk, however as this is a totally different type of car to my previous vehicles & will be used as more of a cruiser than a missile & i do like to listen to a variety of music while driving, is the Signature System so good that it's definitely money well spent, or is the difference between the 825w system & the Signature so marginal that it's a pointless outlay?

This probably sounds daft, but although i could hear for myself the 2 systems almost side by side, i like the idea for this option of the surprise in that i'd hopefully be blown away by just how good it is & know i'd made the right choice, this is why i'm after some real world opinions rather than checking them out myself.

I haves the 825 and find it extremely good, i am glad I didn't spend the extra,
If you are into extremely loud music then go for it, the 825 is a really good sound system with great sound and quality you will not be disappointed, i did hear both systems but to be honest couldn't really notice the difference. 2010 defender utility

I have the 825 system and think the sound quality is excellent - as good as top end sound systems I have had on other marques. Having said that I have not heard the signature system, probably glad I haven't as it removed the choice! As you say it is an expensive upgrade and for me just wasn't worth it, particularly as with wife in car volume has to be low and with kids it's just pop music on radio !!

What makes you think that

380W is the basic Vogue system
825W is an option on Vogue, but standard on VSE & AB
Signature is the £4k additional option.

AFAIK they are all Meridian

Perhaps it just means branded Meridian ?

There's some more info here which seems to confirm that Meridian make all the L405 audio systems

Surround Sound is the 825W version (see the bottom of the page linked above)
