Hi all. Its been one thing after another since I bought the ff nearly a year ago and I currently have three jobs that need attending to when the weather gets a a bit better. However, the beast has now decided to add a fourth - the drivers seat controls have stopped working. I know there are plenty of threads on this and (ahem) other sites, but the problem I have doesn't seem to fit the ones I have read and I just wondered if anybody could confirm what it might be. I have a 2003 Vogue td6 with the 'everything but ejector seat' 12 (or is it 10) switch memory button type panel. All of the switches have stopped working apart from the separate lumber controls, but when I try any of them nothing happens apart from there is an audible 'electrical' click a bit like a relay triggering. Until they stopped working all of the adjustments worked perfectly Please dont say check the fuse as the glove box is one of the jobs I have to do - I cant open it.... QUID FACIUM TIBI

It may just be a loose connection. I had something similar, removed the trim panel, removed the seat control box, opened it up (I'm an electronic engineer) saw nothing suspicious. Reassembled, reinstalled and started working. Did give the connectors a good clean out though. Careful on opening the box as there are some spring loaded buttons... Ed |

I cant get into the glovebox to check the fuses as when I press the button nothing happens. It was working ok then one day it didn't (yes I have made sure it is unlocked) it is probably a disconnected cable and I had the end cover off of the dash but I couldn't see anything or reach the catch. I have an endoscope that I will try when the weather clears up(I dont have a garage)or it will be dash top off time. Back to the seat, there is a definite click when pressing any of the buttons so it sounds like at least the panel has power. I did remove the valance on the side of the seat as the lumbar button had been pushed in and to get at it I disconnected the wiring. However , I was very careful to reconnect everything fully and checked everything worked afterwards, which it did then and for a couple of days after, then just didn't work anymore. I will be removing everything again just in case this wasn't a coincidence but I just wondered if there might be some else causing the problem. QUID FACIUM TIBI

I believe you have to "go" at the glovebox latch through the dash end cover .

Yeah-tried that I couldn't see or reach the latch and I am not sure it is that end or the button end that is the problem. Either way I am going to have to get in sometime if only to change the cd's...... QUID FACIUM TIBI

Had a similar(ish) problem on ours a couple of years back. Turned out it was the wiring loom under the seat. A couple of the wires had broken internally with the movement of the seat and were causing fuses to blow. |

My 330cd had issues with the electric memory drivers seat, think caused by changing from my driving position to the wife's.
